The
RTE FAX solution is not only a specialised fax server
for interconnection with messaging systems currently
on the market (Ms Exchange, Lotus Domino or SMTP). RTE
FAX also has
open connectors
making it possible to provide the Fax function in
applications
housed in medium-sized or large systems
(UNIX Systems, AS400, Mainframes) while conserving the
possibility of making these application interfaces available
to Windows applications.
There are 2 ways to interface RTE FAX to an AS 400 or
UNIX system :
Spool-IP
- Print stream capture (1)
The Spool-IP
interface captures a print stream from an application
located on a remote machine. Spool-IP
searches the print stream for the transmission characteristics
(essentially, the recipient’s fax number).
Spool-IP supports TXT,
ESC/P, PostScript and PCL streams.
File
interface – Shared disk space (2)
The file interface
searches a shared disk space for command files whose
extension is ‘.INI’. The command file
contains the information on the file to be sent, and
on the recipient(s) of the Fax.
